Healthy Gut – Stronger Immune System

Each of us has the ability to create a healthy gut and stronger immune system by improving the health of our digestive system and shaping our microbiome.

A healthy gut rewards us with a strong immune system. It begins with our microbiome which is a community of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses that make up our gut microbiota. Combine the microbiota, the products it makes, and the entire environment it lives within and we have a microbiome. Some researchers have said that up to 90 percent of all diseases can be traced in some way back to the gut and health of the microbiome.
The foods we eat, our sleeping patterns, the amount of bacteria we are exposed to every day, and our stress levels all help to establish the state of the gut microbiota.

The good news is that you really are in control of your microbiome through diet, physical exercise, sleep, and stress management. Knowing this can start you on the path to improving your gut health.

Poor gut health can contribute to many diseases and disorders like leaky gut syndrome, autoimmune disease, arthritis, dementia, heart disease, and cancer. The quality of your health relies on the balance of organisms and bacteria living within your gut. When you are exhausted from working overtime at the office, your body is working overtime too. When your immune system is constantly overloaded, it can cause it to weaken. When that happens, your body cannot respond to germs as quickly or as efficiently.
Your immune system can be affected by these germs that can lead to respiratory infections, sinus infections and lung infections. These germs can cause problems with your GI tract and with your kidneys. You can also experience skin infections and skin rashes. If you are experiencing headaches, muscle aches, food allergies or sensitivities, gas, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, frequent colds or sinus infections or feeling tired to the point of exhaustion, your body is calling out to you for help.

Any of these symptoms could be caused by germs or toxins… and point to the need for changes in your diet to cleanse and detoxify your body.

Many chronic diseases are caused by lifestyle choices that are creating toxicity in the body. People tend not to exercise as much as they should, they allow themselves to become overweight, and they eat unhealthy foods that lead to things like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and strokes.

We all need to be diligent in improving our health, and it’s more important today than ever before. We live in a toxic world, and it’s important to boost your immune system by eating healthy foods that cleanse toxins out of your body and improve your gut health.

In order to keep you healthy, your immune system works hard to eliminate toxins. It fights off viral junk, bacterial infections, fungus and more. But because there are so many toxins, it can be easy for your immune system to get bogged down. More than ever, people are being diagnosed with autoimmune conditions, food and other allergies.

When it comes to autoimmune diseases, there are some that are linked to environmental toxins that can cause your body to turn on itself and attacking certain organs because the immune system registers the organ itself as a foreign invader rather than the toxins.

When you make healthier choices in the food you eat, you give your digestive system a healthy cleanse. This takes the pressure off your immune system to help it work the way that it should, while increasing the healthy bacteria in your gut and reducing the risk of chronic disease.

Eating probiotic-rich foods and taking a daily probiotic supplement also help to increase the good bacteria. Probiotic-rich foods include live-cultured yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, fermented vegetables, miso soup, apple cider vinegar and dark chocolate. In addition, fruits and vegetables contain fibers and sugars that can boost the health of gut bacteria.

When you start adding these probiotic-rich foods to your diet, while removing sugar, you will be moving in the right direction to a healthy gut and a stronger immune system.
